Conferences and Camps

Family and Provider Conferences provide unique opportunities to learn in an environment with other families, parents, youth and children who are touched by the experience of being or loving someone who is transgender or exploring their gender identitiy. In addition to providing critical information and resources, these annual gatherings foster a sense of community,  which reduces stigma and isolation, and connects parents, as well as youth,  to an affirming and safe community.

Listen to the inspiring  story of one such friendship that emerged for two young transgirls
here, which aired on This American Life.

Models of Pride
Fall 2014, Los Angeles, CA
The Models of Pride, sponsored by Lifeworks Mentoring, is  a weekend filled with workshops, a resource fair, exciting entertainment, food, a dance, and lots of new friends! Last year, in addition to the regular conference, we were treated to performances by Kathy Griffin, cast members from the hit show Glee, and League of Extraordinary Dancers, as well as an address from the Oscar-winning screenwriter of Milk, Mr. Dustin Lance Black. Visit the MOP website for info about this years conference.

Gender Spectrum Family Conference

By itself, gender is complex.  When you add other aspects of who you are--race, ethnicity, religion, family background and where you live, to name just a few--things can be complicated.  It's also what makes your story unique.  Join us in exploring these issues at the  Gender Spectrum Conference, Gender: Just One Piece of the Puzzle.
